Allison Cara Tolman, an American actor from the United States. She is best known for her character Molly Solverson in the first season of Fargo, the first season of FX the television show Fargo. It earned her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Tolman is a native of New York and is the mother of two older and one younger brothers. The family relocated to England at the age of a few weeks and lived there until she was four. After that, she spent 5 seasons in Oklahoma before moving on into Sugar Land. She earned her degree from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical performance. In 2009, she relocated from Chicago, Illinois, to learn about acting at The Second City Training Center. Her career in television began when she was the protagonist of FX's crime-drama series black comedy Fargo. Inspired by The 1996 Coen brothers' film with the same name, Fargo starred veteran actors Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman's performance in the role of Minnesota cop Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently stole the whole performance". Tolman was praised for her character. She was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Ministry/Movie and also received Best Actress nominations at the Emmy Awards and for the Golden Globes. The same year, it was revealed that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the Mindy project in the role of Abby Berman who is a romantic author. In 2015, Tolman had an supporting role in Michael Dougherty's comedy-horror film Krampus. Tolman was turned down for parts in the supporting roles like best friends, spouses, and mothers after her breakthrough role on Fargo. Tolman was seeking for a unique role. In the year 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled after a single season. Tolman was a part of ABC's Emergence drama that debuted on September 24, 2019, but was cancelled by ABC following one year of airing at the 21st of May in 2020 even though Tolman tweeting that the ratings were "pretty acceptable". [citation needed] She also was a guest star on the show on NBC called Good Girls. In 2021, she appeared as Alma Filcott in the second season of the drama show Why Women Kill, and played Natalie Green in The Facts of Life portion in the third episode of Live in Front of a Studio Audience.
